I have been involved in music education for over 30 years, with 20 plus years of one-to-one piano teaching experience.

I provide bespoke one-to-one piano lessons in North Warwickshire, so whether you're starting from scratch, preparing for an exam, or wanting to develop your skills, lessons will be tailored to your needs.

About

Background

Music is in my DNA. I come from a family that enjoys the performing arts, and I learnt piano, cornet, and recorder from an early age.

I graduated from the University of Birmingham with a Bachelor's degree in Music with honours in 1987 and completed a PGCE teacher training course the following year at what is now Bath Spa University.

I taught in secondary schools for six years, including three as a Head of Music, before deciding to focus on piano tuition for children and adults.

As a professional accompanist, I performed in the UK and abroad, and I worked as an ABRSM examiner for five years.

I have been teaching one-to-one piano lessons for over 20 years. I now run my private teaching practice and also teach students and staff at the University of Warwick.

All lessons take place in a purpose-built music room with two pianos. Lessons and curriculum are bespoke to each student, and my priority is always to support the musical development of the individual.

All areas of musical skill are taught, with an emphasis on building rhythm and promoting rhythmic awareness. I encourage my students to learn a wide variety of music to grow their repertoire.

Piano and music theory lessons are available in both face-to-face and online formats, and from ages five and up.
